== Maltese == === Etymology === Borrowed from Sicilian pitrusinu, from Latin petroselinum, from Ancient Greek πετροσέλῑνον (petrosélīnon). Probably an early borrowing in which the initial pi- was interpreted as the preposition bi (“with”), thus Maltese bit-tursin (“with parsley”), whence the backformation. Compare, for more, this latter with the Hyblaean variant puddisinu (“parsley”). === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /turˈsiːn/ Rhymes: -iːn === Noun === tursin m parsley
