== Hungarian == === Etymology === Inherited from Old Hungarian ollo, ollow (“kid (of a goat)”), which is borrowed from Danube Bulgar *oɣloŭ, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *oɣul-aɣ (“young of an animal”). The modern sense of "scissors" is apparently because scissor blades swing like a goat's legs. Alternatively, from obsolete sense "rafter" (attested in 1669), in which case possibly inherited from Proto-Uralic *ulke (“pole, post”). === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈolːoː] Hyphenation: ol‧ló Rhymes: -loː, -olːoː === Noun === olló (plural ollók) scissors (tool used for cutting) ==== Declension ==== ==== Derived terms ==== === References === === Further reading === (scissors): olló in Géza Bárczi, László Országh, et al., editors, A magyar nyelv értelmező szótára [The Explanatory Dictionary of the Hungarian Language] (ÉrtSz.), Budapest: Akadémiai Kiadó, 1959–1962.
