olló

=== Etymology ===
Inherited from Old Hungarian ollo, ollow (“kid (of a goat)”), which is borrowed from Danube Bulgar *oɣloŭ, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *oɣul-aɣ (“young of an animal”).
The modern sense of "scissors" is apparently because scissor blades swing like a goat's legs.
Alternatively, from obsolete sense "rafter" (attested in 1669), in which case possibly inherited from Proto-Uralic *ulke (“pole, post”).
