kämänen
التعريفات والمعاني
== Finnish ==
=== Alternative forms ===
kämäinen
=== Etymology ===
kämä- + -(i)nen, probably from dialectal kämä (“hardened, stuck substance; old, worn thing”). SSA considers this word (which has no known cognates) to be of sound-symbolic origin and that kämärä (which is related to Estonian kämar and Ingrian kämärä) is derived from it. UEW suggests that the word may originate from Proto-Uralic *kämä (compare Erzya кеме (keme), Hungarian kemény), but SSA denies any direct connection and argues that those words are of separate sound-symbolic origin.
