aparmaq
التعريفات والمعاني
== Azerbaijani ==
=== Etymology ===
Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (aparmaq), likely from *alıp barmak, in which case it would be equivalent to alıb + varmaq (“to go”). Compare Uzbek obormoq, Uyghur ئاپارماق (aparmaq), dialectal Turkish aparmak, and Shor апар (“to take away”).
Figurative senses are probably a calque of Russian вести (vesti).
