=== Etymology 1 ===
From sortaa: The verb sortaa, "to oppress, tyrannize", has two alternative forms for the 3rd-person singular indicative past, sorsi and sorti (i.e. the "ti ~ si fluctuation"). In a back-formation, sorsi produced the infinitive sorsia, after the pattern of the type sallia (3rd-pers. ind. past salli). The word is originally humorous but is now in common use.
