The auxiliary is always sein when there is movement from one place to another: Die Drohne ist weiter nach Norden geschwebt. (“The drone floated further towards the north.”) When there is no movement or movement within a confined space, the normal choice is haben, but sein is also possible: Die Drohne hat / ist über unsern Köpfen geschwebt. (“The drone hovered above our heads.”)
