Loanword from an extinct Central Sudanic language; compare with Mamvu ogyenya (“little rope, small plaited object”) and Kanuri je (“rope”). Cognate with Nyankole orugyenyi and Rwanda-Rundi urugenya.

orujenyi
roulettes made by twining two small ropes around each other, doubling the resultant cord, twining again, and then tying off the end. Often used to decorate pottery.
