== Nyankole == === Etymology === Loanword from an extinct Central Sudanic language; compare with Mamvu ogyenya (“little rope, small plaited object”) and Kanuri je (“rope”). Cognate with Nyambo orujenyi and Rwanda-Rundi urugenya. === Noun === orugyenyi class 11 (plural engyenyi class 10, augmentless rugyenyi, plural augmentless ngyenyi) roulettes made by twining two small ropes around each other, doubling the resultant cord, twining again, and then tying off the end.
