== Welsh == === Etymology === From hollt (“cleft, fissure, split”) +‎ -i, from Middle Welsh hollt, from Proto-Celtic *skoltā (“cleft, fissure”) (compare Irish scoilt), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)kelH- (“to split, cut”). Possibly related to Proto-Celtic *kallī (“forest, grove”).
