hainitá
التعريفات والمعاني
== Navajo ==
=== Etymology ===
ha- (“searching for”) + -y- (3rd person object prefix) + -ni- (thematic) + ∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -∅- (classifier) + -tá (conclusive imperfective stem of root -TĄ́Ą́ʼ, “to search”).
=== Verb ===
hainitá
he/she is looking for it, searching for it, seeking it
==== Conjugation ====
Paradigm: Conclusive (∅/si).
Note: the Analytical Lexicon (YMM 1992) states it is Durative aspect, but this comes in contradiction with their grammatical appendix (pp. 868-869) where it is said that “the Durative [...] takes a ∅/yi conjugation pattern” while “essentially a Durative, the Conclusive differs from the Durative in that [...] it takes a ∅/si” conjugation pattern. YM 1987 calls it a continuative, which AL reserves to verbs prefixed with na- (atelic) taking ∅/si pattern. See haatih for the same issue.
