== Albanian == === Alternative forms === fryk firkë frîgë === Etymology === From Proto-Albanian *frikā, possibly from Ancient Greek φρίκη (phríkē, “shivering, shuddering”) but the semantic area is more uncommon for Ancient Greek loans in Albanian. Assumption of a loan from Byzantine Greek φρίκη (phríkē) seems implausible, because velar followed by front vowel would be palatalized.
