From Ottoman Turkish طاغتمق (dağıtmak). Apparently causative form of Proto-Turkic *dar- (“to go apart, scatter, spread”), however it displaced the original verb. The reason of -/r/- to -/ğ/- assimilation is unknown, see more at dağılmak.
