Learned borrowing from English (possibly American) beaver. Coined by Maria Sanjayani in a 1996 book titled Biwara dan Cucurut (original title: Beaver and shrew) to translate beaver. The term became more widely known in 2020 after being used on the Indonesian Wikipedia in December 2019.
