biežs
التعريفات والمعاني
== Latvian ==
=== Etymology ===
A morphological variant of biezs (“thick, dense”), probably initially in the adverbial form bieži (“often”). In various dialects, biežs is used in the same senses as biezs. The semantic differentiation in the literary language started in the 1860s; the difference became stable at the beginning of the 20th century (biezs (“thick, dense”) = Russian густой (gustoj), толстый (tolstyj), biežs (“frequent”) = частый (častyj)).
