== Latvian == === Etymology === A contraction of the older form bijāties, itself the reflexive form of bijāt. From Proto-Balto-Slavic *bajā́ˀtei, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰoyh₂-eh₂-ti, from *bʰeyh₂-.
