wonne

wunne (Kölsch)
wohne, woane (Moselle Franconian)
=== Etymology ===
From Old High German wonēn. Cognate with German wohnen, Dutch wonen. The expected Ripuarian vowel is /ɔ/, but Limburgish wone (instead of *waone) suggests that there was a variant *wunēn, which would have yielded Ripuarian /u/. The /o/ can thus be understood as a compromise form between both variants. (Kölsch wunne is probably due to the younger pre-nasal raising peculiar to this dialect.)
