wolfram

التعريفات والمعاني

== English == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram, of obscure origin. Generally assumed to be derived from Wolf (“wolf”) +‎ Rahm (“cream, soot”), a calque of Latin lupi spuma (“wolf's froth”), coined by Georg Agricola in the 16th century and a term of contempt due to its lesser value compared to tin and its degradation to the tin smelting process. Else, possibly derived from a personal name, where the second element is derived from *hrabn (“raven”). === Pronunciation === (US) enPR: 'wo͝olfrəm, IPA(key): /ˈwʊlfrəm/ === Noun === wolfram (uncountable) wolframite (dated) tungsten ==== Derived terms ==== ==== Descendants ==== → Malay: wolfram → Thai: วุลแฟรม (wun-frɛm) ==== Translations ==== === References === == Afrikaans == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === === Noun === wolfram (uncountable) tungsten == Czech == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === === Noun === wolfram m inan tungsten ==== Declension ==== == Danish == === Etymology === From German Wolfram. === Noun === wolfram n (singular definite wolframmet, not used in plural form) tungsten ==== Declension ==== === References === “wolfram” in Den Danske Ordbog == French == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /vɔl.fʁam/ === Noun === wolfram m (uncountable) wolframite tungsten === Further reading === “wolfram”, in Trésor de la langue française informatisé [Digitized Treasury of the French Language], 2012 == Indonesian == === Etymology === Borrowed from Dutch wolfraam, from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === (Standard Indonesian) IPA(key): /ˈwolfram/ [ˈwol.fram] Rhymes: -olfram Syllabification: wol‧fram === Noun === wolfram (plural wolfram-wolfram) tungsten Synonyms: siamang, tungsten === Further reading === “wolfram”, in Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia [Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language] (in Indonesian), Jakarta: Agency for Language Development and Cultivation – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, 2016 == Italian == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈvɔl.fram/ Rhymes: -ɔlfram === Noun === wolfram m tungsten (chemical element) Synonym: wolframio == Malay == === Etymology === Borrowed from English wolfram, from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [wɔlfram], [wɔlfrɛm] Rhymes: -am === Noun === wolfram (Jawi spelling وولفرم, plural wolfram-wolfram or wolfram2) tungsten (chemical element) Synonyms: siamang, tungsten === Further reading === wolfram on the Malay Wikipedia.Wikipedia ms == Northern Sami == === Etymology === From Norwegian wolfram. === Pronunciation === === Noun === wolfram tungsten ==== Inflection ==== ==== Further reading ==== Eino Koponen, Klaas Ruppel, Kirsti Aapala, editors (2002–2008), Álgu database: Etymological database of the Saami languages‎[1], Helsinki: Research Institute for the Languages of Finland == Norwegian Bokmål == === Etymology === From German Wolfram. === Noun === wolfram n (definite singular wolframet, uncountable) tungsten (chemical element, symbol W) ==== Descendants ==== → Northern Sami: wolfram === References === “wolfram” in The Bokmål Dictionary. == Norwegian Nynorsk == === Etymology === From German Wolfram. === Noun === wolfram n (definite singular wolframet, uncountable) tungsten (as above) === References === “wolfram” in The Nynorsk Dictionary. == Polish == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈvɔl.fram/ Rhymes: -ɔlfram Syllabification: wol‧fram === Noun === wolfram m inan tungsten ==== Declension ==== === Further reading === “wolfram”, in Polish dictionaries at PWN‎[2] (in Polish) == Romanian == === Etymology === Borrowed from German Wolfram. === Noun === wolfram n (uncountable) tungsten (chemical element) Synonym: tungsten ==== Declension ====
