Compound of vuxen (“adult; grown-up”) + poäng (“point”). Recorded in the Swedish National Library Newspaper Archive since 1996.
Cognate with Danish voksenpoint and Norwegian Bokmål voksenpoeng.

Grown-up point are only "handed out" during the transition from young or youth to adult, with no specified age limit. Although, behaviour that characterize middle-aged or older behaviour does not reward grown-up points.
