viszonthallásra

التعريفات والمعاني

== Hungarian == === Etymology === From viszonthallás (“hearing again/back”) +‎ -ra (“on, onto”, here “for”; sublative case suffix), from the verb viszonthall (“to hear again, hear back”) +‎ -ás (noun-forming suffix), from viszont- (“mutually; again”) +‎ hall (“to hear”). Coined in analogy with viszontlátásra. Literally, it could be translated as “till we hear each other again” or (more loosely) as “hear you later”. For a similar formation, compare Icelandic heyrumst or German auf Wiederhören === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈvisonthɒlːaːʃrɒ] Hyphenation: vi‧szont‧hal‧lás‧ra Rhymes: -rɒ === Interjection === viszonthallásra (formal) goodbye (used at the end of telephone conversations)
