== Romanian == === Alternative forms === tipișăr — rare, obsolete === Etymology === Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish تباشیر (tebeşir), from Classical Persian تباشیر (tabāšīr, “chalk, clay, plaster; sugar from bamboo, tabasheer”) (perhaps borrowed from Hindi तबाशीर (tabāśīr, “tabasheer”)), ultimately from Sanskrit तवक्षीर (tavakṣīra, “white substance from bamboo, tabasheer”, literally “bark milk”). Cognate to Aromanian tibishire, Albanian tebeshir, Bulgarian тебеши́р (tebešír), Greek τεμπεσίρι (tempesíri).
