tarmitét
التعريفات والمعاني
== Old Irish ==
=== Alternative forms ===
tremi·tét
=== Etymology ===
From tarmi- + ·tét. Calque of Latin transgredior.
Pedersen and DIL treat tremi·tét and tarmi·tét as synonyms formed with different prefixes, but Thurneysen points out that tremi- is regularly found for tarmi- in pretonic position, implying that the two are morphologically equivalent.
A separate verb tremi·tét (“to traverse; to penetrate”) actually does have tremi- from tre- (“through”).
