Borrowed from Moroccan Arabic تكبر (takabbur, “pride, haughtiness”), from Arabic تَكَبُّر (takabbur).
The initial تَ (ta) was reanalyzed as the native feminine prefix ta-, which led to the addition of a final -t (the feminine circumfix t- -t).
