== Aromanian == === Alternative forms === scuticu === Etymology === Uncertain. Possibly from a Slavic skutŭ, or from Vulgar Latin *scuticum, from Latin stucia (“a leather lash, whip”), probably confused with derivatives of cutis (“leather”) (compare cutica). Therefore, the meaning could have changed from a leather belt to that of fabric or cloth in general. Cognate with Romanian scutec. === Noun === scutic n (plural scutitsi or scutitse) diaper rough cloth, coarse fabric ==== Related terms ==== scutã == Romanian == === Noun === scutic n (plural scutice) obsolete form of scutec ==== Declension ==== === References === scutic in Academia Română, Micul dicționar academic, ediția a II-a, Bucharest: Univers Enciclopedic, 2010. →ISBN
