schéissen
التعريفات والمعاني
== Luxembourgish ==
=== Etymology ===
From Middle High German schieȥen, from Old High German skiozan.
Cognate with German schießen, Dutch schieten, English shoot, etc. As in similar verbs like fléissen, géissen, the vowel of the past participle was influenced by that of the now-lost preterite (Middle High German si schuzzen). Otherwise the form would have been geschass (and thus identical to schäissen).
