Originating as a catchphrase from a 2009 Old El Paso commercial for a packaged taco-making kit that contains hard and soft tortillas. In the advertisement, a group of people argue over whether hard or soft tacos are better, to which a young girl proposes “¿por qué no los dos?” (“why not both?”, subtitled as “why don't we have both?”).
