pikkulauantai

=== Etymology ===
pikku (“little”) + lauantai (“Saturday”), probably a calque of Swedish lillördag. Possibly from a custom of organizing "weekend activities" on Wednesday or Thursday in order to keep the Sabbath holy—in Lutheran Finland, the Sabbath would begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Alternatively, may be related to a custom whereby servants had their day off in the middle of the week.
