petralha
التعريفات والمعاني
== Portuguese ==
=== Etymology ===
Coined by Brazilian journalist and columnist Reinaldo Azevedo around 2006, blending petista (“Workers’ Party supporter”) + metralha (“machine-gun shot”), in reference to the Beagle Boys (“Irmãos Metralha”, literally “Machine-Gun Brothers”), bandit characters by Disney whose raison is to rob Scrooge McDuck; the color of their shirts, red (same as that of the Workers’ Party), contributed to the association.
Alternatively, commonly analysed as a blend of petista + tralha (“junk”).
