Since the English word "inventory" is used to refer to both the process of compiling a list of something and the result of that process (the list), the terms perunkirjoitus (the process) and perukirja (the result) can both be translated by the English terms "estate inventory" or "inventory of an/the estate". The Finnish tax authority uses the unofficial English translation "estate inventory deed".
