From Ottoman Turkish اوینامق (oynamak, “to play, perform, risk, disport, move, vibrate, dance, amuse one's self, jest”), from Old Anatolian Turkish اوینامق (oynamak), from Proto-Turkic *oyna-; equivalent to oyun (“game”) + -a- (denominal verb suffix).
