navakka

From nav- + -akka, probably derived from the dialectal adjective navea with the same meaning. It has been proposed to be a borrowing from Proto-Germanic *snawwiz (“short-haired”), with a possibly secondary meaning of "fast"; this would imply a Proto-Finnic *navëda. Compare rivakka, ravakka.
