The contracted form neüçün may be realized as [ˈnewt͡ʃyn], in which the sequence [ew] can be interpreted as a realization of /ev/ and thus subject to the regular shift to /œj/ attested in some dialects, including Baku, yielding nöyçün, which is still attested as an alternative form.
