== Estonian == === Noun === mutti partitive/illative singular of mutt == Finnish == === Etymology === Given that the word has the sense "lump, small round mass of material" in dialects, it is probably a variant of motti (“lump”). The dish in question is generally described as a "lumpy" dish. It has also been compared with Russian муть (mutʹ, “dregs; something liquid with a sediment”). The term has historically referred to somewhat different dishes in different parts of Finland. The porridge-like dish made from barley flour is from North and Central Ostrobothnia. In Tavastia, mutti has traditionally referred to a relatively thin porridge or even a (thick) drink made from sweetened potatoes and rye flour. In the western side of Kymenlaakso, it has referred to a porridge-like stew made of flour, peas or beans and optionally swede/rutabaga. Furthermore, in some regions it may have referred to a type of paste made from talkkuna (kama). === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈmutːi/, [ˈmut̪ːi] Rhymes: -utːi Syllabification(key): mut‧ti Hyphenation(key): mut‧ti === Noun === mutti A traditional Finnish dish made from barley flour and resembling (dry) porridge. ==== Declension ==== ==== Synonyms ==== pepu, köpötes, tikkupuuro, tikkuhöyry, äkkinäinen === Further reading === Recipe for mutti (in Finnish)[1] == Italian == === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈmut.ti/ Rhymes: -utti Hyphenation: mùt‧ti === Adjective === mutti masculine plural of mutto == Latin == === Verb === muttī second-person singular present active imperative of muttiō == Pali == === Alternative forms === === Noun === mutti f release freedom
