== Latin == === Etymology === By surface analysis, moechus +‎ -issō. The term could indicate an otherwise unattested Ancient Greek verb *μοιχίζω (*moikhízō), itself from μοιχός (moikhós, “adulterer, paramour”). However, the term might also have been coined by Plautus artificially as a mockery of the speech of Greek slaves. === Pronunciation === (Classical Latin) IPA(key): [moe̯ˈkʰɪs.soː] (modern Italianate Ecclesiastical) IPA(key): [meˈkis.so] === Verb === moechissō (present infinitive moechissāre, perfect active moechissāvī, supine moechissātum); first conjugation to ravish ==== Conjugation ==== === References === “moechisso”, in Charlton T.
