luottamustehtävä

التعريفات والمعاني

== Finnish == === Etymology === luottamus +‎ tehtävä === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈluo̯tːɑmusˌtehtæʋæ/, [ˈluo̞̯t̪ːɑ̝mus̠ˌte̞ht̪æʋæ] Rhymes: -ehtæʋæ Syllabification(key): luot‧ta‧mus‧teh‧tä‧vä Hyphenation(key): luot‧tamus‧tehtä‧vä === Noun === luottamustehtävä A position or post to which a person is appointed only if they enjoy the necessary trust or confidence, and in which they are expected to carry out their responsibilities; (see usage notes) a position of trust. Near-synonym: luottamustoimi saada luottamustehtävä ― to be entrusted (with a position) ==== Usage notes ==== There is no exact English translation, and often the idiomatic translation depends on the context. “position of trust” may be correct in some legal contexts, but is a broader term and may also refer e.g. to the position of an adult over a child or children, which luottamustehtävä cannot refer to. The term “confidential post”, on the other hand, is uncommon in Anglophone countries. In CVs or résumés, one may wish to translate the term as e.g. “position(s) held”, “honorary position(s)” or “community/professional leadership and service”, further depending on whether the position was paid, whether one would consider those positions to be part of one's 'career', and other factors. ==== Declension ==== === Further reading === “luottamustehtävä”, in Kielitoimiston sanakirja [Dictionary of Contemporary Finnish]‎[1] (in Finnish) (online dictionary, continuously updated), Kotimaisten kielten keskuksen verkkojulkaisuja 35, Helsinki: Kotimaisten kielten tutkimuskeskus (Institute for the Languages of Finland), 2004–, retrieved 3 July 2023
