linteus

== Latin ==
=== Etymology ===
Related to līnum (“linen”), but cannot be derived from it due to the short /i/ and /t/. This phonological discrepancy suggests the existence of a noun derived from Old Latin *lintum or derived on an earlier stage, e. g. from Proto-Italic *lintom. Ultimately a probable borrowing.
