From Hindustani قورْمَہ (qorma) / क़ोरमा (qormā), from Classical Persian قورْمَه (qōrma) (from which Iranian Persian قُرْمِه (ġorme)), from Turkic (likely Ottoman Turkish قاورمه (kavurma, “roasted meat”), verbal noun of قاورمق (kavurmak)).
