jytkyä + -y
(political upset): Coined by Finnish politician Timo Soini in 2011; Soini, who was the True Finns party chairman at the time, said the line tuli iso jytky (literally “[and then] came a big bang/thud”) in an impromptu speech after his party went up from 5 seats (of 200) to 39 seats in the 2011 Finnish parliamentary election; this also helped popularize the sense “a surprising and unexpected event”.
