informo (accusative singular informon, plural informoj, accusative plural informojn)
piece of information
an act of informing someone about something; notice, report
==== Usage notes ====
Unlike in English and many other European languages, the word informo is countable, usually referring to a single piece of information (e.g. a single fact) rather than any amount of information as a whole. As such, the English uncountable word "information" is usually translated with the plural informoj.
In fact, in recent decades the Esperanto word is used far more often in the plural form than the singular.
