== Swedish == === Etymology === From Old Swedish edizla, idhisla. The first part of the word is derived from the Old Swedish particle ið- denoting a repeated action also found in eda and idra, ultimately from Proto-Germanic *idi, and cognate to English ed- (cf. eddish).
