== Turkish == === Etymology === Derived from Ottoman Turkish ایچه طوغمق (içe doġmaḳ, “to rise to the inner perception, to dawn upon the mind”), equivalent to compound of iç (“inner, the inside, internal”) +‎ -i (possessive suffix) +‎ -(n)e (dative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant) +‎ doğmak (“to be born, to arise”), literally “(for something) to be born into one, to arise in one”. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /i.t͡ʃiˈne.doːmak/ Hyphenation: i‧çi‧ne‧doğ‧mak === Verb === içine doğmak (third-person singular simple present içine doğar) (intransitive, idiomatic) To have a hunch or feeling that something is or was going to happen; to feel in one's water, to feel in one's bones. ==== Usage notes ==== In the base form of the verb, "iç" has the possessive suffix for 3rd Person Singular, this suffix changes accordingly for other persons; 1st P. Sg. "-im" + -e (dative suffix) → (içime) 2nd P. Sg. "-in" + -e (dative suffix) → (içine) 1st P. Pl. "-imiz" + -e (dative suffix) → (içimize) 2nd P. Pl. "-iniz" + -e (dative suffix) → (içinize) 3rd P. Pl. "-leri" + -e (dative suffix) → (içlerinize) Since the event that is presumably felt assumes the position of the subject in the sentence, the verb doğmak can only be inflected in 3rd person singular or plural. ==== Conjugation ==== ==== Related terms ==== === References === === Further reading === “içine doğmak”, in Turkish dictionaries, Türk Dil Kurumu Çağbayır, Yaşar (2007), “içine doğmak”, in Ötüken Türkçe Sözlük (in Turkish), Istanbul: Ötüken Neşriyat, page 2084
