See the entry on p.984 of the "Official and Descriptive Catalogue of the Great Exhibition" concerning transverse and vertical sections of the wood from the River Berbice in Guyana. The abbreviation Aubl. refers to the French botanist J B C F Aublet, 1720-1778, the author of a major work on the botany of Guyana with 400-odd copperplate engravings.
An entry for "incense tree" in the Shorter OED (1983) confirming the Latin name of the tree which is indistinct in the photograpic image of the "Catalogue" page and garbled on the transcription page which also renders "sections" as "motions".
