== Hungarian == === Etymology === From the husz- stem of húsz (“twenty”) +‎ -ad (fraction-forming suffix). === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈhusɒd] Hyphenation: hu‧szad Rhymes: -ɒd Homophone: húszad === Numeral === huszad a twentieth (one of twenty equal parts of a whole) (archaic) synonym of huszadik (“twentieth [in order]”) ==== Usage notes ==== Sometimes this word is misspelled as *húszad, though the latter can only express “your twenty [items]”. Their pronunciation with a short u is reflected in the spelling of certain derivations (ordinal numbers, fractions, and prefixes of tens) but not in inflections or in -as and -an forms. Compare tizedik and huszadik, tizen- and huszon-, as well as tized (“a tenth”) and tízed (“your ten [items]”) but tízes and húszas, tízen and húszan, all pronounced with a short vowel in the first syllable. ==== Declension ==== ==== Derived terms ==== === References === === Further reading === (twentieth [fraction]): huszad in Géza Bárczi, László Országh, et al., editors, A magyar nyelv értelmező szótára [The Explanatory Dictionary of the Hungarian Language] (ÉrtSz.), Budapest: Akadémiai Kiadó, 1959–1962.
