== English == === Alternative forms === hoggen === Etymology === Use of the term in Cornwall is attributed to Old Cornish hoggan, hogen (“pork pasty; pie”), from hoch (“pig”), from Proto-Brythonic *hux, from Proto-Celtic *sukkos, from Proto-Indo-European *suH-, related to Welsh hwch (“sow”).
