hatvan

التعريفات والمعاني

== Hungarian == === Etymology === Cognate with Northern Mansi хо̄тпан (hōtpan, “60”). From the numeral hat (“six”) +‎ van where van cannot be attested as an independent word (it is not the verb van). Compare also nyolcvan (“80”) as well as negyven (“40”), ötven (“50”), hetven (“70”), and kilencven (“90”). The second element might be related to Finnish moni (see the other cognates there), deriving from Proto-Uralic *mone, *mune. For the supposed sound change in Hungarian (m > v), compare név and nyelv. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈhɒtvɒn] Hyphenation: hat‧van Rhymes: -ɒn === Numeral === hatvan sixty ==== Declension ==== or less commonly ==== Derived terms ==== (Non-institutionalized adjectival compounds with single-element numerals [excerpt]):hatvanezres, hatvanmilliós, hatvanmilliárdos, hatvanbilliós; hatvanméteres, hatvancentis, hatvankilós, hatvandekás, hatvangrammos, hatvantonnás, hatvanliteres; hatvanwattos, hatvanamperes; hatvanperces, hatvanórás, hatvanórai, hatvanórányi, hatvannapi, hatvannapos, hatvanhetes, hatvanheti, hatvanéves, hatvanévi, hatvanhavi; hatvanpercenként, hatvanóránként, hatvannaponta, hatvannaponként, hatvanhetente, hatvanhetenként, hatvanhavonta, hatvanhavonként, hatvanévente, hatvanévenként; hatvanfokos, hatvanfokú, hatvanirányú, hatvanoldalas, hatvanoldalú, hatvankötetes, hatvandimenziós, hatvanszázalékos, hatvankerekű, hatvanfős, hatvanfőnyi, hatvannyelvű, hatvantagú, hatvanelemű, hatvanrészes, hatvanemeletes, hatvanrétegű, hatvanszintes, hatvanablakos, hatvanajtós, hatvanüléses, hatvanjegyű, hatvanpontos, hatvanszavas, hatvanbetűs, hatvansoros; hatvanforintos, hatvandolláros, hatvaneurós; hatvanlábú, hatvanágú, hatvanfejű, hatvankezű, hatvankarú, hatvanszemű, hatvanfülű, hatvanlevelű. === See also === Hatvan (a town in Hungary; its etymology seems unrelated to the above numeral) === References === === Further reading === hatvan in Géza Bárczi, László Országh, et al., editors, A magyar nyelv értelmező szótára [The Explanatory Dictionary of the Hungarian Language] (ÉrtSz.), Budapest: Akadémiai Kiadó, 1959–1962.
