haiteg

التعريفات والمعاني

== Luxembourgish == === Etymology === From Middle High German hǖdich, from Old High German *hiudīg, northern variant of hiutīg. By surface analysis, haut (“today”) +‎ -eg. Cognate with German heutig, Dutch huidig. The t is from the underlying adverb (in turn from final devoicing) and/or influenced by German. That it cannot be original is evidenced (beyond the general lack of shifted d in Luxembourgish) by the “short” diphthongs [ɑʊ̯], [ɑɪ̯], which developed only before voiced sounds. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈhɑɪ̯təɕ] === Adjective === haiteg (masculine haitegen, neuter haitegt, not comparable) today's, of today current, present ==== Declension ==== ==== Related terms ==== haut
