haatih

التعريفات والمعاني

== Navajo == === Etymology === ha- (“aging”) + ∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -d- (classifier) + -tih (conclusive imperfective stem of root -TIH, “to be old”). === Verb === haatih he/she/it grows old, worn ==== Conjugation ==== Paradigm: Conclusive (∅/si). Note: the Analytical Lexicon (YMM 1992) states it is Durative aspect, but this comes in contradiction with their grammatical appendix (pp. 868-869) where it is said that “the Durative [...] takes a ∅/yi conjugation pattern” while “essentially a Durative, the Conclusive differs from the Durative in that [...] it takes a ∅/si” conjugation pattern. YM 1987 calls it a continuative, which AL reserves to verbs prefixed with na- (atelic) taking ∅/si pattern. See hainitá for the same issue. ==== Related terms ==== yitih hastiin
