gustatu
التعريفات والمعاني
== Basque ==
=== Etymology ===
From Spanish gustar (“to like”) + -tu.
=== Pronunciation ===
IPA(key): /ɡus̺tatu/, [ɡus̺.t̪a.t̪u]
=== Verb ===
gustatu zaio (imperfect participle gustatzen, future participle gustatuko, short form gusta, verbal noun gustatze)
to like
Synonyms: atsegin izan, gustuko izan
Olibak asko gustatzen zaizkit. ― I really like olives.
==== Usage notes ====
As in the Spanish verb from which this term is borrowed, the subject and object of gustatu are seemingly reversed from those of to like. That is, the subject of gustatu is the thing that pleases and the (indirect) object is the person who is pleased.
