grynas

التعريفات والمعاني

== Lithuanian == === Etymology === Of unclear origin. Generally connected to Latvian grīns (“weak, sickly”) (though not grīns in its other senses, including "firm, strong (of yarn)" and "derisive"); the assumed original meaning of the Baltic forms is "pure", and shifted in Latvian from "pure" > "bare" > "poor" > "weak". These terms are probably further connected to Lithuanian griẽti (“to skim, grab”), as "skimming" can be conceived of as a form of "purifying"; see there for more. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [¹ˈɡrʲiːnɐs] Rhymes: -iːnɐs Syllabification: grý‧nas === Adjective === grýnas m (feminine grynà) stress pattern 3 pure, clear, clean, neat ==== Declension ==== === References ===
