a microgarden consisting of a narrow strip of vegetation close to the façade, wall or fence of a house or building within the built-up area, often located on the street side on publicly-owned land, often created by removing paving, often maintained by the occupant of the property in question; often employed as a measure to reduce rainwater run-off, to counter urban heat stress, to increase biodiversity and/or to beautify the streetscape
