gandėtis
التعريفات والمعاني
== Lithuanian ==
=== Etymology ===
Thought to be derived from an older verb negandė́ti (“to not have enough, not suffice”), with the initial ne dropped. For a semantic parallel (albeit with words of different etymology), Smoczynski compares the Polish collocation obawiać się niedostatku (“to fear paucity”). The root of the verb is connected to ganà (“enough”); see there for more.
